Mental Health Aware — half-day course
An introductory session covering what mental health is, how to challenge stigma, and basic skills for supporting someone in distress. Ideal for rolling out to a whole workforce.
The half-day Mental Health Aware course is MHFA England’s introductory offer. In around four hours it covers what mental health is and how to challenge stigma, basic knowledge of common mental health issues, and simple skills to support someone in distress — including looking after your own mental health.
Because it is short and affordable, it works well rolled out across a whole team or organisation, creating shared language and reducing stigma, with deeper training reserved for designated first aiders.

Frequently asked questions
Can we run this for a large group?
Yes — awareness sessions typically accommodate larger groups than certificated courses (often up to 25), which makes per-head costs very reasonable for whole-team rollouts.
